IMG_4940This week started off chilly. It was 43 degrees, overcast, cool and windy for my Saturday run. I pushed for 8.1 miles ending in a pace of 8:20. Most of the last half of the run was against the wind. I don’t enjoy these long runs too much but I suppose they are necessary for the training. I’ve stated it before but it helps me immensely to have the Map My Run app tracking my run and providing stats (distance, pace, split) every 1/2 mile.

After a long run on Saturday, I ran 3 on Sunday. It was a solid 7:46 pace.

After an off day on Monday, I put in 6.1 on Tuesday at a 8:19 pace and 5 more on Wednesday at an 8:02 pace. This may have been my best run of the week. Five months ago, I don’t know if I would have believed you if you told me I would run five miles close to an 8 minute pace.

I finished my training this week with 3.1 miles on Thursday at a 7:47 pace again taking Friday off to recover.
